Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Infusion / OPAT

First Coast Infectious Disease Consultants | Orange Park, FL 32073

*Outpatient infusion. Weekday hours. A growing specialty program.* First Coast Infectious Disease Consultants is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse to help launch and grow our outpatient infusion program across our Jacksonville and Orange Park locations. This is an opportunity for an experienced infusion, home infusion, infectious disease, oncology, or IV-focused nurse who wants to move away from nights, weekends, hospital call, high-acuity floor nursing, or spending the day driving between patients. Our initial program will focus heavily on outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT), caring for patients discharged from the hospital who require several weeks of IV therapy. As the program grows, we expect to expand our outpatient infusion services beyond antimicrobial therapy. This is a small, physician-supported outpatient environment with the opportunity to become a key part of a growing infusion program from the beginning. *The Schedule* Monday through Friday, daytime hours. No nights, weekends, holidays, or hospital call. The position will cover both our Orange Park and Jacksonville infusion suites. The anticipated initial schedule is approximately three days per week in Orange Park and two days in Jacksonville, although the schedule may shift based on patient volume and operational needs. Reliable transportation and the ability to work at both locations are required. The nurse will also be expected to provide limited after-hours phone availability for infusion patients when needed. We anticipate this to be relatively infrequent and primarily related to patient questions or issues associated with ongoing therapy. This is not hospital call or routine after-hours onsite coverage. We are open to full-time, part-time, and PRN candidates and will work with the right experienced nurse to develop a schedule that meets both program and candidate needs. *What You'll Do* You'll provide outpatient infusion care in our five-chair infusion suites, primarily managing patients receiving multi-week antimicrobial therapy. Common therapies include: * Ceftriaxone * Ertapenem * Daptomycin * Vancomycin Many patients will have a *PICC or midline*, so strong vascular-access assessment and management skills are important. *Responsibilities include:* * Administering prescribed IV therapies * PICC and midline assessment, access, care, and maintenance * Independently assessing patients before and during treatment * Recognizing and responding appropriately to infusion-related complications * Monitoring patients throughout therapy * Coordinating with our infectious disease physicians and clinical team * Patient education related to vascular access and treatment * Responding to occasional after-hours patient calls related to infusion therapy * Supporting the clinical workflow and development of a growing outpatient infusion program Our infectious disease physicians are available during infusion hours, and the program operates with established clinical protocols and anaphylaxis standing orders. *What We're Looking For* _*Required:*_ * Active Florida or Compact RN license * Current BLS certification * At least two years of experience in infusion therapy, home infusion, infectious disease, oncology infusion, or another comparable IV-intensive clinical setting * Experience and confidence working with PICC lines and midlines * Ability to independently assess patients and recognize potential complications * Reliable transportation and ability to work at both our Jacksonville and Orange Park locations * Ability to provide limited after-hours phone support for infusion patients when needed _*ACLS is preferred but not required at hire. We will pay for ACLS certification within 90 days.*_ CRNI, VA-BC, and chemotherapy certification are not required. *Compensation & Benefits* $38–$46/hour, based on experience. Full-time employees are eligible for: * Employer health insurance contribution * Three weeks of paid time off * 3% Safe Harbor retirement contribution * Professional liability coverage * Paid Florida RN license renewal * Paid ACLS certification After 12 months, we will also pay for *CRNI or VA-BC certification* for nurses interested in advancing their infusion or vascular-access credentials. *Why This Role Is Different* This is not a high-volume hospital infusion floor or a home-infusion driving position. You'll work in small outpatient infusion suites with predictable weekday hours, infectious disease physician support, and the opportunity to help shape a growing specialty infusion program. For the right nurse, this is an opportunity to get in early, develop with the program, and become an important part of how we build outpatient infusion services across our practice. _*Apply through Indeed with your resume and indicate whether you're interested in full-time, part-time, or PRN work.*_ *Locations* *Orange Park* 2035 Professional Center Drive Orange Park, FL 32073 *Jacksonville* 2122 University Blvd South Jacksonville, FL 32216 First Coast Infectious Disease Consultants is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
