    Welder – Submarine Program (UTI-Miramar)

Our Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard is seeking to hire motivated entry level Welders from our Trade School Partners. This position will be in support our Submarine program at Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard. These roles are responsible for fabrication on submarine manufacturing. The primary tasks include the welding of newly installed structural members and plating, as well as the welding of re-installed temporary access openings. Additional tasks include the following... Welding on a wide variety of materials, using an ever-growing number of weld processes Welding structural assemblies using GMAW and SMAW during fabrication and installation of submarine construction Participation in continuous training in traditional, and new welding processes, using both conventional and state-of-the art equipment (Qualification required for each process) Use of pneumatic tools such as grinders, burr tools, wire brushes, etc. Oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging as well as verifying weld size using weld gauges Reading and interpretation of weld symbols, technique sheets, and work packages Additional tasks as assigned All tasks require strict adherence to the company’s safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. A structural welder should be able to read and utilize welding procedures and welding symbols. A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use an oxy-fuel torch to apply pre-heat to materials prior to welding. A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use air carbon arc gouging equipment to gouge welds. A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use electric and pneumatic grinders to prepare materials for welding, as well as to clean and contour finished welds. A structural welder should be able to use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions of weld joints in accordance with approved joint designs. A structural welder should be able to use weld gauges to verify weld size and quality in accordance with specifications. A structural welder should be able to utilize ceramic backing in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions with the semi-automatic welding processes. A structural welder should be able to pass groove-weld qualification tests in all positions for multiple materials and processes, such as Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) of high strength steel and stainless steel. This position will be in support of Submarine projects. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Must be a graduate or current student of UTI-Miramar MIG Welding experience or training Structural welding experience Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs Experience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment Basic mathematical skills Ability to interpret welding and shipyard procedures, structural drawings, technical manuals, test documents and diagrams This position requires you to successfully demonstrate your ability to complete the technical requirements outlined in NAVSEA mil std 1688. This position also requires access to a controlled site with additional clearance requirements. An offer for this position is contingent on you both being able to demonstrate ability to complete technical training outlined in NAVSEA mil std 1688 and obtaining/maintaining the required access to the controlled site. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $46966 - $85030 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. Position Summary: IEM is currently seeking a Materials Supervisor for our Jacksonville, FL location and will report into the Materials Manager. Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Jacksonville, Florida offices and does not offer remote work. The Materials Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day materials operations, ensuring the safe, accurate, and uninterrupted flow of materials from receipt through supermarket inventory, point-of-use replenishment, production support, WIP, and final product shipment. This role oversees the team members and daily execution needed to maintain material availability, inventory accuracy, and production support. The Materials Supervisor is expected to be a hands-on leader who supervises daily materials activities and supports continuous improvement efforts. The role partners closely with Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve material constraints, support material flow, participate in Kaizen initiatives, and help maintain standardized processes that support operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily materials management activities, including supermarket operations, receiving, inventory control, material handling, replenishment, point-of-use delivery, WIP, and finished-goods material flow. Support the accuracy, availability, and flow of raw material, WIP, and finished-goods inventories by reinforcing transactional discipline, location control, cycle counting, and corrective action. Support the implementation of standardized materials management processes aligned with production requirements. Maintain and update the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) system, including part characteristics, demand and usage, container quantities, replenishment methods, storage locations, and point-of-use requirements. Support the design and day-to-day execution of lean material replenishment systems, including Kanban, supermarkets, point-of-use inventory, pull systems, and milk runs. Partner with Purchasing/Supply Chain and Planning to ensure materials are on track to support production schedules, and escalate shortages, constraints, or risks to customer commitments. Coordinate supermarket and point-of-use material flow, supporting continuous improvement of warehouse layout, slotting, material presentation, and replenishment efficiency. Support inventory optimization efforts that balance material availability, service levels, working capital, inventory turns, and production continuity. Participate in and help lead cross-functional Kaizen events and structured problem-solving activities focused on material flow, inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, and production support. Use data and operational metrics to identify root causes and support improvement opportunities, applying tools such as A3, PDCA, 5 Why, Pareto analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and standard work as appropriate. Partner with Production Planning and Operations to monitor material availability and production progress, escalating material issues that threaten schedule attainment. Partner with the MRB, Purchasing, and Quality teams to support resolution of supplier issues, vendor return material authorizations, and material discrepancies. Support inventory control governance, in partnership with Finance, to help identify discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Track and report materials KPIs, including inventory accuracy, shortages, replenishment performance, inventory turns, warehouse productivity, dock-to-stock performance, and material delivery to point of use. Supervise, coach, and develop materials and warehouse team members by establishing clear expectations and building accountability. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing company policies and applicable local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, industrial engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 4+ years of experience in materials management, inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of experience supervising or leading a team in a warehouse, materials, inventory, or manufacturing environment. Experience supporting or participating in lean warehouse and material replenishment systems, including PFEP, Kanban, supermarket, pull, and point-of-use concepts. Experience participating in Kaizen events and structured problem-solving efforts. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for inventory and materials planning; SAP, Oracle, or Infor Syteline experience is a plus. APICS CPIM/CSCP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing certification is preferred. Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization. Knowledge of natural gas industry terminology, regulatory requirements, and equipment maintenance and repair practices. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and effectively plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities. Compressor Tech 1 year of experience in compressor operations, engine, generator, turbine mechanics or electronics troubleshooting and repair. Personal protective equipment needed, including, but not limited to, safety glasses, puncture resistance boots, and a hard hat worn while performing the field functions. PHYISCAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS Manual dexterity is required to lift 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 50 lbs., and apply up to 600- foot lbs. of torque. Regularly required to stand and walk with the ability to bend, twist, balance, and climb. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and natural gas in certain situations.     Star Railroad is hiring *Stick Welders and experienced Railcar Repairmen/Carmen* at our Green Cove Springs facility. *Railcar experience is NOT required if you are a strong Stick/SMAW welder with good fabrication and torch skills. We will train the right person.* PAY *$22–$25/hour – Experienced Welder / Railcar Trainee* For candidates with strong Stick/SMAW welding, fabrication, and oxy-fuel torch skills but limited or no railcar experience. *$26–$30/hour – Experienced Railcar Repairman / Carman* For candidates with proven freight railcar repair experience and knowledge of FRA/AAR requirements who can perform railcar repairs with minimal training. Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of experience in Security Operations Center (SOC), Managed Security Services, or Cyber Operations, including 5+ years of people-leadership experience across engagements - 5+ years of experience with security technologies, including threat and vulnerability management, Security Operations Center operations, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), proxies, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Endpoint Detection and Response/Extended Detection and Response (EDR/XDR), antivirus, sandboxing, network- and host-based firewalls, threat intelligence, and penetration testing - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information security, mathematics, decision sciences, risk management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering - Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve. - Limited immigration sponsorship may be available. Preferred: - One or more of the following certifications: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) -Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification - Experience building or scaling a Managed Security Services or Cyber Operations practice, including capability build-out and service maturity roadmaps - Experience leading sales pursuits, request for proposal (RFP) responses, and solution development for cyber managed services engagements - Experience translating technical security findings into client recommendations and executive presentations - Experience coaching and mentoring Managers into senior leadership roles - Experience coordinating activities across multiple cyber workstreams and engagements The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 163,400 to 322,100. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
