    *Job Description: Medical Assistant * (Revised 07/2019) *Job Title:* Medical assistant *Summary:* Assist the physicians and nurse with the care of patients in each office. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities* * Ensure a patient-centered environment. * Answer phones as needed. * Prepare rooms for the day. * Escort patients to room; prepare patients for examinations. * Record height/weight and blood pressure for well visit; chart and graph findings in EHR. * Ask parent or patient about chief complaint and document. * Prepare for upcoming patient visits with proper paperwork, if necessary for the visit. * Perform vision and hearing screening as necessary. * Assist doctors as needed with sick visits, as well as well-child visits, school or camp physicals, and paperwork preparation as needed. * Clean and restock rooms and equipment. * Assist as needed with securing referrals and making specialist or test appointments. * Relay messages as may be required by physicians. * Assist at front desk as necessary with phones and filing. * Obtain blood samples if certified by finger stick or venipuncture. * Prepare for urine culture and analysis. * Prepare for and run strep tests and all other laboratory tests. * Assist doctor and nurses with procedures. * Copy charts and reports as needed. * Record immunizations in EHR for upload in to Florida Shots. * Order and stock supplies. * Scan and file nurse and visit notes. * Responsible for the upkeep and security of laptops and any other equipment. * Keep clean surrounding common work areas, waiting room, and lavatories. * Participating in quality improvement work. * Miscellaneous as requested. *Qualification Requirements * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     The Patient Family Counselor is responsible for providing counseling and support for patients, families and caregivers. This includes the development of goals and objectives and the direct provision of care for patient, family, and caregiver. Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care as assigned. Communicate findings to physicians, nurses, allied health and extended interdisciplinary team. Perform social evaluations including, family dynamics, caregiving abilities, communication patterns, high risk for suicide, neglect or abuse, and plans based on evaluation findings. Provide crisis intervention when necessary. Educate interdisciplinary group on special needs related to the cultural differences, learning style, learning limitations, communication style, and roles within the family. Qualifications: Master’s Degree Required Licensed Social Worker (LCSW) and/or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Minimum one of year experience in a hospital or medical setting May be a Licensed Marriage/ Family Therapist (LMFT) With more than 2 years experience in hospital/ medical setting Knowledge of patient and/or family caregiver support, including the necessary knowledge, experience and clinical skills. Analytical ability necessary to solve complex administrative and clinical problems. Ability to evaluate needs of patient populations and develop programs to meet those needs. Interpersonal skills necessary to motivate and provide direction. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management. Position Summary: A Certified Nursing Assistant is an employee who provides direct or indirect patient care under the supervision and direction of a nurse. This position will provide care to brain and spinal cord injured patients in our skilled nursing facility. Job Responsibilities: Accepts assignment, direction, and delegation of tasks from the nurse(s) based on patient age, diagnosis, developmental needs, and plan of care Answers patient call lights. Provides direct ADL care and assistance, including bathing, showering, dressing, feeding for patients who are very dependent; assists those who are partially independent. Toilets patients or provides bedpan-urinal for elimination; cleans patients after each episode of incontinence. Serves patient trays, feeds patients who are very dependent; assists those who are partially independent by setting up the tray. Monitors patient for choking/aspiration. Provides oral hygiene and grooming to dependent patients. Assists those who are partially independent. Turns and repositions patients. Makes occupied and unoccupied beds. Assists with washing patient's personal clothing, as needed. Takes vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure), reports abnormalities to the nurse.
