This position combines lock operations with mechanical and hydraulic maintenance. A key focus will be transitioning the lock from a primarily reactive maintenance approach to a proactive preventative maintenance program that improves reliability, reduces equipment downtime, and extends the life of critical equipment. Essential Responsibilities Safely operate the navigational lock in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols. Monitor vessels entering and exiting the lock and assist boaters as needed. Inspect hydraulic, mechanical, and related equipment for leaks, wear, corrosion, vibration, unusual noises, and other potential problems. Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance schedules. Perform routine maintenance including lubrication, adjustments, fluid and filter changes, cleaning, tightening, and replacement of wear components. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, cylinders, hoses, fittings, valves, filters, and related equipment. Diagnose equipment failures and perform minor to intermediate repairs in-house when practical. Determine when specialized contractor assistance is required and coordinate with outside vendors and technicians. Test equipment following repairs to ensure safe and proper operation. Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment issues, and parts replaced. Maintain an organized inventory of commonly needed parts, tools, hydraulic fluids, filters, lubricants, hoses, fittings, and other supplies. Assist management with long-term maintenance and capital replacement planning. Respond to lock-related mechanical and operational emergencies and take appropriate action to safely secure equipment when necessary. TRAVEL: Willingness/Ability to travel up to 30% - 40% domestically to (a) regularly meet/interact with customer base and internal personnel within assigned territory; and (b) typically attend 4-8 internal/external conferences and meetings spanning locations within the United States. Salary Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000 and eligibility for a sales incentive target of $40,500. Sign assembly includes preparing substrates and using the proper machines and techniques to construct products according to written instructions. In addition to production this position requires installation of signs and vinyl graphics. Use of power tools, ladders, and lifts is to be expected. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Follow a layout to place computer cut vinyl or full color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium. 2. Prepare substrates for vinyl application. This may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application. 3. Weed excess vinyl from computer cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl and complexity of image. 4. Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards. 5. Perform finishing operations such as laminating and mounting of printed pieces. 6. Perform installations at customer locations or other off-site locations as necessary. 7. Able to dig holes to put sign posts in the ground and help assemble a sign. 8. Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee. 9. Help unload and store raw materials; clean and maintain storage areas. 10. Work on multiple projects simultaneously. 11. Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1. Ability to stand for long periods of time. 2. Ability to lift 50 or more pounds. 3.
