Job Overview The Senior Process Engineer will support HR in designing and re-engineering end-to-end processes to improve employee and manager experience, simplify operations, strengthen controls, reduce risk, and deliver measurable efficiencies. This individual contributor role partners with process owners, project managers, Technology, AI specialists, Controls, and other stakeholders to analyze current-state processes and design effective future-state solutions. Responsibilities: Lead process re-engineering efforts, including current-state analysis, identification of pain points and root causes, and design of simplified future-state processes. Facilitate stakeholder workshops and apply Lean methodologies to identify opportunities for elimination, simplification, standardization, automation, and improved user experience. Create process maps and narratives documenting workflows, roles, handoffs, controls, data, and technology requirements. Use data and process metrics to identify opportunities, establish baselines, and quantify expected or realized benefits. Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, including preventive and automated controls, in partnership with Risk and Controls teams. Assess where AI, including AI agents, can appropriately augment or automate activities within the future-state process, considering business value, user experience, controls, human oversight, and risk. Partner with AI and Technology specialists to validate feasibility and develop requirements. Define roles, responsibilities, and ownership within redesigned processes and partner with stakeholders through implementation and benefit realization. Qualifications: 6+ years of experience in process re-engineering, process improvement, transformation, operational excellence, consulting, or a related field. Strong process and data analysis skills with the ability to identify root causes, challenge existing practices, and develop practical future-state solutions. Knowledge of Lean/process-improvement methodologies and tools, including process mapping, root-cause analysis, waste analysis, and RASCI. Working knowledge of AI and generative AI, with the ability to identify potential AI-agent use cases within business processes and understand when AI, traditional automation, or process simplification is most appropriate. Understanding of responsible AI considerations, including controls, data, human oversight, and governance. Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a complex and ambiguous environment. Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred. Lean, Six Sigma, or related process-improvement certification preferred. AI, generative AI, or intelligent automation training/certification preferred.
