Patients served include adults with Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord, Stroke, Medically Complex, Orthopedic injuries, and Respiratory conditions requiring mechanical ventilation. Responsibilities: Performs direct patient care to patients in all aspects of respiratory care according to the physicians orders/approved protocols Setting up and managing mechanical ventilation Monitoring physiological responses to therapy. Educating patients and their families about their conditions Teaching appropriate disease management techniques. Follow appropriate universal precautions during the delivery of care. Uses proper lifting and body mechanics during delivery of care. Successfully completes all assigned training and annual skills competency as determined by the hospital based on responsibilities, specialized equipment, high risk/problem /or low volume procedures including but not limited to emergency response techniques. Consider patient/customer comfort and need to control when planning and delivering patient care. Demonstrate commitment to superior customer experiences with a service-oriented attitude. Qualifications: Respiratory Therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist required. Associates Degree required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
