    Position Summary: The Patient Access Center (PAC) supports outpatient access by receiving, organizing, and processing incoming referrals, maintaining accurate referral information in electronic systems, and helping callers navigate next steps with a helpful, professional, and patient-centered approach. Within the department, the PAC Assistant provides administrative and call center support to the referral management and scheduling teams. This role enters referral details into the electronic system, organizes referral documentation, monitors incoming referral work queues, assists with internal and external communication, and provides a human point of contact for callers when necessary. PAC Assistants collaborate with Clinic Front Desk Coordinators, Clinic Managers, Provider Relations, and other support departments to help ensure referrals are routed appropriately, information is complete, and patients and referral sources receive timely support. PAC Assistants are essential to ensuring patient access to care is efficient, organized, and best in class. Job Responsibilities: Receive, review, and organize incoming outpatient referrals from providers, fax queues, electronic sources, and other referral channels. Enter referral information accurately and timely into the appropriate electronic systems, ensuring referral details are complete. Provide call center support by answering or assisting callers who reach the end of the phone tree, offering professional, courteous, and helpful human interaction. Route calls, messages, and referral questions to the appropriate team member or department when additional assistance is needed. Support communication with patients, caregivers, referral sources, Clinic Teams, Provider Relations, and other Brooks departments as needed. Assist with departmental projects and general administrative support for the PAC team. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while following department procedures, service standards, and Brooks Rehabilitation policies. Job Qualifications: PAC Assistant: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in healthcare, call center, customer service, medical office, or data entry preferred. Strong computer skills, including accurate data entry and ability to work in multiple electronic systems. Professional phone etiquette and ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and respectfully with patients, caregivers, referral sources, and internal team members. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple incoming referral tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow established workflows and escalate questions appropriately.
